# Ezniek — Verified Human Thoughts

Ezniek is an independent provenance registry for human-authored text.

Core principle: provenance, not guessing.

Ezniek does not infer that text is human merely because its linguistic style resembles human writing. It records positive evidence: accountable authorship declarations, cryptographic file hashes, normalized-text hashes, fragment fingerprints, timestamps, and optional documentary lineage.

## Verification statuses
- Ezniek Registered: a registrant made a human-authorship declaration for a particular content fingerprint at a particular time.
- Ezniek Verified: the declaration is supported by additional independently assessed documentary evidence.
- Legacy Human Provenance: matching text has independently dated publication evidence from before 2020. This can strongly contradict claims that the matched material originated in modern generative AI.
- Provenance Undetermined: no match was found. This must never be interpreted as evidence of AI authorship.

## Important limitations
Ezniek provenance is not, by itself, proof of copyright ownership, factual truth, literary originality or absence of every kind of AI assistance. Each result states its evidence scope.
